Einstein’s Relative is located in Yarra street, the street that runs parallel to South Yarra station that you can see from the platform.

A relatively small cafe that holds no more than 20 people inside and maybe another 10 outside. A small menu, but a classic menu – you will find something for everyone here.

I always like seeing the Mexican infused burgers on the menu and with a 200g patty it is a generous size burger.

From my seat I could see the patties being cooked, it was interesting to see a flame gun used to melt the cheese – not sure if this is common but it made the cheese melt to perfection without overcooking the meat.

The wagyu was fresh and soft and cooked to leave a nice pink centre.

As for the side of corn, a good alternative to fries but I felt like it was missing something – I thought it tasted a bit plain and bland. Maybe some extra butter, salt or melted cheese would do the trick which is an easy fix.

If in the South Yarra area or at South Yarra station and feel like a burger, give this place a shot.
