After seeing a few pictures of this burger online and it having big wraps, I was excited to give the D’Burger a try.
Not sure if it is just my luck with food, but another average experience which started with the service.
Even though the burger was already $19.00 (expensive), I was feeling hungry so ordered an extra patty. I had seen the extra patty in multiple pictures previously and actually spoken the chef months before when they first opened and asked if many double patty burgers get ordered and he said it is quite frequent.
The waiter came back and told me no double patties any more as it ruined the presentation, fair call.
I saw a burger sitting under the hot lamp while waiting for our order to arrive, every time a waiter walked passed they grabbed a chip or 2, this burger was sitting on the counter for a good 10 minutes and I presumed it was a meal made for one of the waiters to go on their lunch break – then a second dish entered the same area and both were presented to our table…4-5 different waiters put their fingers in this food and ate the food off the customers plate, this was crazy!
Also ordered was a Mocha Tim Tam milkshake, while drinking this I couldn’t really taste the Tim Tam flavour, this made more sense to me when I was basically finished and noticed 3 full biscuit’s at the bottom of the cup… the idea was there, but the execution was a big fail.
The best thing about this burger was the jack cheese and that perfect melt.
Negatives: I felt like there was a high lack of slaw and not much chutney – these are the two main ingredients that should give this burger its unique flavour. There was also an overload of rocket which adds nothing in my opinion. As for the presentation, the double patty could only have made it look better.
Overall this was a very average burger that didn’t have much flavour to it, it’s a shame because I was really looking forward to it and was disappointed.
Sorry guys, but it is very doubtful that I will be back here even though it is local for me 🙁
